To kick of Damn Am the other weekend, Skatepark of Tampa hosted “The 99 Bottle of Beer” art show. Basically 99 artists where invited to paint a bottle that would then be auctioned of for the “Board for Bros” Charity. I was invited to be one of the featured artists. Among the list of artists was my art hero Jim Phillips. Jim was the inspiration behind the appropriately titled “Tribute” shirt from our Fall 2008 collection. Needless to say it was an honor to be part of the same show that he was in.
The event was a big success, too. According to Barak of SPOT, “people came in droves to enjoy the evening of art, fun, and friends. We easily raised $2,000 for Boards for Bro’s with 90% of the bottles selling. Bottles were literally flying off the shelves.” Just wanted to say thanks to Barak over at SPOT for including me in this great event. Here are a few photos; go check out more pictures at SPOT’s site.
