These past three weeks have been nothing but craziness for me. Let’s jump back to the beginning: Wakestock 10 in Toronto, Canada. Oakley, along with Pat Panakos and the Projects/Canada crew, once again stepped it up in building one of the craziest rail/pool set ups I have ever seen. My girlfriend, Melissa, and I opted to stay further away from the venue than most would – in Chinatown to be exact. That area of Toronto is a very diverse area, blending Asian culture with an urban style. Some really neat restaurants, stores, and graffiti murals were spotted on a daily basis.
Next on my to-do list was a bit of a big deal to me: college graduation. That’s right, I walked across the stage and received my bachelor’s degree in digital media. What does this mean? Two things: 1) I will be able to ride more often, and 2) I am jumping aboard in the art department as UGP’s junior designer.
Finally, Melissa and I traveled up to Virginia to attend Liquid Force’s BroStock, held at Smith Mountain Lake. I flew in a few days earlier to shoot with Joey Meddock and Joey Lawson, riding some of the 2008 wakeskates. Let me tell you, you’re all in for a treat real soon. From Friday on we all were in party mode, going nuts on a pair of house boats.
This week I fly out to California to spend eight days with Sea Doo. I will be riding and coaching during their annual dealer meeting. I’m taking Melissa’s camera with me, so be on the lookout for photos of the beautiful Palm Desert. If it isn’t then I apologize in advance for the huge disappointment.
