On a whim I went up to Woodward last week. I really wanted to see what an alley oop double whip felt like. Turns out it was one of the funnest things I’ve done on a bike. I posted a video of it below
Next week I’m off to Myrtle Beach to do some demos at the Hard Rock Live theme park. If you’re in the area for any reason stop by and say hello. Oh, and keep an eye out for my ad in the upcoming issue of Ride.
Adam Fields joins our wake team of hard working wakeboarders and wakeskaters and will represent in both Florida and North Carolina. He’ll be splitting his time coaching and riding at his school called “The Adam Fields Wakeboard School” where they blow through thousands of students a summer. In the winters he’ll be down in Florida taking advantage of our mild winter so he’s able to ride year round and get exposure for his sponsors. Look for Adam at all the grass routs events in the NC area this summer. Welcome to the team Adam!
Chad’s seat, two versions, have arrived at Profile. They only produced 300, so they are really limited. Made by Velo with hollow chromo rails, and superlite foam. Pivotal versions coming late 2008.
Just got back from a fun weekend with the 50/50 crew in SLC. I got a last minute call for the invite to Lake Powell for a show down there. Jonas was the man in charge down there and he hooked it up. Thanks to him we had a guided tour of the lake and got to explore Indian ruins. That was definitely the highlight of the trip for us. The lake was about 50 ft below average and 50.000 short of women. It was the off season. Not worries, we still had a blast! Thanks Jonas, you rule!
I was in Davenport Iowa last weekend for a Jam at the Concrete park they have there. It was awesome. That park is amazing. The weather wasn’t so good. It was windy as hell and you would get blown around every time you went over coping. And you couldn’t really carve the bowl to its full potential because the deep end was full of four feet of water. Everyone had a real good time regardless.
I did trains all day with Drew York and there were some make shift wood ramps. There were kids who were trying to carve all the way around the deep bowl without going in the water. They all went in. And even tried it again wet. Miles and I filmed a bunch and will have an edit up sometime with in the week. Next, I leave for a Sputnic trip to Atlanta. I also got a new frame to put together. Things are sick… I’ll have a UGP web video soon. Here are some pictures.
The folks at Alliance Wakeskate uploaded a little video of myself on their site. Highlights include: mine and my lady’s pup, Juno, and an epic landslide. Thanks to Keith Lant @ Scene 1 Productions and Alliance Wakeskate.
Wakeskater/Student/Former Roommate/Library Study Master Josh Kirby sent over these rad sequences of himself, shot by Adam Aslanian. Josh recently got his hands on the new Doyle II wakeskate shoes, and was quoted saying they are “SO BALLER!” Thanks for the update Kirby, and keep shredding.
If you’ve been to our events section today, you might have noticed a few changes. We’ve tweaked it to make it a little easier to keep track of events.
First off, and most notably, we’ve made it easy for you to embed event fliers. By now you’re surely used to copying and sharing videos you like with embed codes. Now, you can do the same thing with events listed on our events page. Just select the embed code for the event you want to share, paste it wherever you want, and help spread the word.
We’re also using the hCalendar microformat—if you’re not sure what that is, don’t worry. What it means is that you can easily add any event to your calendar, whether it’s Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple’s iCal, or others. Right now, you need the Operator add-on for Firefox, but both Internet Explorer and Firefox will be adding this feature soon.
A couple weeks ago Ben Greenwood and I participated in a Supra/Moomba dealer event, turned contract signing, turned clinic, turned contest appearance. Read the rest of this entry »
I’m back from Brazil. It was absolutely bananas (seriously, look at the pics). Brazil is incredible, some peaceful, some not. From Sao Paulo to surf towns it was an awesome trip and many memories were had; I even had a half hour long show on ESPN Brazil one night. They flew out to the island of Florianopolis to interview me, naturally I had them meet me on the beach. It was epic. Hahaha.
Highlights of the trip included: Hanging with Osato, the weather, the beaches, bikinis, dudes in speedos (new product idea??? haha…nevermind), X-games, Caprianas, no tan lines, good coffee, and awesome fans. Brazil is a place where you can have a great time…”for reals”. Off to China this weekend and will be there for 6 days.
When the week’s end comes around at The Wakeboard Camp we are ready to party. Good thing we have a bar right across the street. Here are a few pictures of my friends: Chad, Kurt, Jenny and our camp chiropractor Dr. DaSilva kickin’ it.
